BIOGRAPHY Michael C. Kahrs has a solo practice located in historic Ballard (Seattle), Washington. He practices primarily in the areas of prison, personal injury, civil rights, public records and post-conviction law. Mr. Kahrs graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in physics in 1983. He subsequently obtained a M.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Washington in 1987. After several years of testing nuclear reactors on aircraft carriers for the United States Navy, Mr. Kahrs attended Martin Luther King Jr. Law School at the University of California, Davis. Mr. Kahrs obtained his Juris Doctor from U.C. Davis in 1997. Since graduation, he has successfully represented individuals against various governmental entities, including the Washington Department of Corrections, and the Department of Health and Social Services. Mr. Kahrs is admitted to practice law in the State of Washington, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. In 2007, Mr. Kahrs was selected as a Washington Rising Star by the magazine Washington Law and Politics.
